About Appalachian Springs

Appalachian Springs boasts a rich history, reaching back to the founding of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park when the Wear family moved from the Sugarlands and settled on the land where our outdoor resort will now be built.

The family planted roots in the Pigeon Forge community, built their homes on the mountain soil, and raised their children to connect to the mountains and rivers of the Smokies. The land that was passed down to them served as a space for connecting to each other and to nature through fishing in Mill Creek and exploring the terrain around them. Now, this family ground serves as a space where people can experience the same connection that forged the inspiration behind Appalachian Springs.
